I am a fan of pens. It is rather simple.
Take me to a stationery store and I could be 'lost in transit' for hours!

For my wedding present my beloved wife gave me a very special gift - a Mont Blanc fountain pen. It is very very sexy and I love it to bits. In the family pecking order it comes after my wife and our new acquired rescue greyhound and it looks like this:

Such beauty, such style. I am in awe when I write and I wouldn't change it for the world BUT... who could not love a pen that looks like this:

This is one of the 10 most expensive pens in the world. A collaboration by Mont Blanc and Van Cleef & Arpels. It is billed as the most expensive pen fetching a record $730,000!

Each pen has 840 diamonds and more than 20 carats of gemstones set in a Van Cleef & Arpels patented "Mystery Setting" that conceals the stone settings.

Do I want one? No thnaks. I'll stick with my sentimental gift and I'll give you a tenner to help with the insurance for the other one!

How wonderful are these letterpress 'Always Play Amongst Friends' prints!

Each print is by a different designer from 'Friends of Type', they measure 8 x 10 and are blind embossed and I think, actually I am pretty sure I need to flex my credit card so they can hang in my sprare room!

Now is good old Blighty’s December which brings rain, rain and more rain!
We do 'snow dances' to see if the Lord above will allow us a white Christmas but instead we have bloomin' rain! Booooooo! You get hot and sweaty, the public transport smells of 'wet dog' and you always manage to wear the wrong shoes for the amount of rain that falls!

'For Jean'.

A special Sponge Bob Figurine that was customized by Karl Lagerfeld was recently auctioned off at a WWF charity auction in Paris. Many Celebrities had signed iconic objects linked to the cartoon character. Karl Lagerfeld went a little further and gave Sponge Bob the Karl make-over. The figure also managed to get the highest bids at the event. Via WWD.

Hello November.... welcome once again.

Blimey! Where has the year gone? Hasn't it flown by?! It only seems like 5 minutes ago it was Christmas. Talking of Christmas we have only 52 days until Christmas day!

November is one of my favorite months. The leaves go from a glossy green to beautiful shades of brown, gold, red and maroon. The nights start to draw in where you want to snuggle down with your loved one, and it is appealing to go for long walks in the woods. I look forward to November, although we go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, to me it is Mother Natures way of saying, rest up, relax, chill and wallow.

To me November conjures up images of marshmallows melting on toasting forks by the fire, thick woollen socks, roasting chestnuts, a carpet of fallen leaves cuddling your ankles as you walk and hot chocolate in big mugs. Ahhhhh bliss!

The tube map is a wonderful thing. I helps John Doe get from A to B in double quick time (that's if the blasted thing has no delays and leaves are not on the line!!!!!!!!). Artists throughout the centuries the tube has been running have invested and re-invented the humble tube map.

Clémentine Tantet has taken this a step further with the Paris underground map. Paris is known for being the 'La ville lumière ' (City of lights) and the map has been design iwth looking down at it from Space.

Last night saw the premier of Michael Jackson's 'This is it' movie in Leicester Square, London. Whilst I am sad that we have lost such a young life and under terrible circumstances, I do believe MJ will be taken for a bigger ride in his 'after life', more than he was when he had 'control'.

Having a browse this morning and wanting to find out some facts about the movie I stumbled across this website where a small tribute had been 'created' out of lego!

Fancy heading somewhere to chew and chat, then Maison de Conception recommends Story Deli in Dray Walk, Old Trueman Brewery.

Story Deli was styled by Anne Shore, a Fashion Stylist, who works for Vogue Italia. Whilst sitting on cardboard pods scattered around huge communal tables you are served pizzas on wooden boards with a generous sprinkling of rocket. Vintage cutlery, thick church candles, organic juices and attention to detail makes this eatery a success!

Whilst devouring the pizza's, which come in fabulous mouth watering varieties, such as, air-cured ham and pesto; chorizo with roasted almonds and red pepper; and smoked salmon with roasted fennel and mascarpone, you can watch the hustle and bustle of Dray Walk through large picture like windows.

Seriously..... go eat!

What did you get up to today? We got up early as turning the clocks back put us out of sink a little, and headed out to Columbia Road Flower Market. The weather was just typically beautiful, all autumnal and bright.

Wrapped up warm we sat and ate smoked salmon bilinis and drank mint tea, then pounded the streets to buy some beautiful bargains!

Ryantown has turned black and white for the duration of 6 weeks and we headed straight there to see if his paper cuts were as beautiful as ever!

Civil Partnership : Kelly & Debbie

When Kelly & Debbie started planning their Civil Partnership, one of them wanted a small and quiet affair and the other wanted something with pizzazz! After some brain storming they put together an informal diner party style wedding.

Guests were greeted with Pimms and the bright, summery theme followed on through with miniature yellow roses in all the table arrangements, gentle flavours to the wedding menu and a wonderful fresh cream and white chocolate wedding cake.

The day was successful with the sun holding out for the entire duration and every guest wanting them to throw another party the following weekend.

All in all their wedding day was a huge success!

A good friend of ours, Skin from Skunk Anansie, helped Absolut Vodka launch their latest edition of their range. The Absolut Vodka Rock edition bottle in Milan. The guys from Shotpop designed a 400sqm wall to assist with the launch. Of course in Skin stylie she wore sparkly leggings and the DJ-ed until the early hours at the launch party.
